The Bears men's basketball team faced Portland Bible College last night in a PCAC Conference match up. This was the first home game of the season for the Bears and they come out hard against PBC, jumping out to a 12-4 lead. The Bears continued the first half in great fashion knocking down shots, and controlling the rebounds to take a commanding halftime lead of 53-36. The Bears were led in the first half by the great play of Jesse Henderson-Lewis, (10 pts.), Steven Shares (9 pts.) , and Joseph Sankey (7 pts.). In the second half the Bears continued to dominate the boards, led by Jesse Henderson-Lewis with 10 rebounds, Joseph Sankey and Brian Mahood each had 8 rebounds a piece. PBC was unable to match the height and the quickness of the Bears as they were defeated, 101-69. Six players scored in double figures for the Bears. They were led in scoring by Joseph Sankey with a season high 19 points. Jesse Henderson-Lewis recorded his second double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Steven Shares, Tade Keshisyan, and Tristan Davis added 12 points a piece, and DeVontae Bryant contributed 11 points. The Bears next PCAC Conference match up is on Tuesday, January 19th against Life Pacific College in San Dimas, California. Gooo Bears!
